Colin Lewes Hanks (born November 24, 1977 in Sacramento, California) is an American actor.
Born Colin Lewes Dillingham[1] in Sacramento, California, he is the eldest son of Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks and his first wife, the late actress Samantha Lewes (real name: Susan Dillingham), who died of bone cancer on March 13, 2002. He has a sister Elizabeth (born 1982) and two half-brothers, Chester (born 1990) and Truman (born 1995) from his father's second marriage to actress Rita Wilson. Hanks attended Sacramento Country Day School, Loyola Marymount University and Chapman University.
Hanks' best known film role may be in the successful teen movie Orange County (2002), with Jack Black. Hanks also made an appearance in an episode of a series with a similar name, The OC. He has also appeared in the Science Fiction television series Roswell and the HBO series Band of Brothers as Lt. Henry Jones.
Hanks had a big supporting role in the 2005 remake of King Kong, playing the assistant to Jack Black's character, a determined film director; Hanks and Black previously played siblings in Orange County.
