Robert Eugene ("Bob") Richards (born February 20 1926 in Champaign, Illinois), known as the "Vaulting Vicar" in his competitive days, was a versatile athlete who made three Olympic Games teams in two events. He competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics, 1952 Summer Olympics, and 1956 Summer Olympics as a pole vaulter, and also was a decathlon in 1956.
