    George Herbert Mead (February 27,1863 – April 26,1931) was an United States philosopher, sociologist and psychologist, primarily affiliated with the University of Chicago, where he was one of several distinguished pragmatisms. He is regarded as one of the founders of social psychology. Mead was born February 27, 1863 in South Hadley, Massachusetts.
